The Network invites you to its end of year function, a Mini-Ecoburbia afternoon of presentations and discussions on the theme of “New Frontiers in Sustainable Home Building”. Presenters will be:
1.30 p.m. Sam Vivers and Simone Pieta from Viva Living Homes at 1.30 p.m. (Viva are one of Australia’s leading straw bale earth builders, designers and educators. Their award-winning, 9 star straw bale homes have featured in newspapers, magazines (including Grand Designs Australia) and at the Sydney HIA Home Show.
2.30 p.m. Jason Perkins from Tractile Roofing Systems (at 2.30 p.m.). Tractile have produced the first integrated solar roof tile solution, generating both electricity and hot water from a single unit. It combines photovoltaic solar cells with thermal hot water in a common platform.
Also present will be Scott Hanson from B.T.S.Energy (who won the contract to install the 120 solar PV panels on the roof of the Narara Ecovillage “Administration” Building), and:
Klara Marosszeky – Managing Director of Australian Hemp Masonry. Klara trains builders, owner builders and building designers in hemp construction and design. She has been involved in the Australian Hemp industry since 1999 in both farming and construction research. She has had significant input to the development of the hemp industry in NSW running agronomic trials on dry land as well as irrigated farms in a number of regions of NSW.

The cost to attend any part, or the whole, of the November 20 program is $10 for an individual and $20 for a family, or is free for members of the Narara Ecovillage Co-operative and the Narara Eco Living Network. There is no need to book.
