Bird Tour Update

Join regular bird walks at the Narara Ecovillage once you have become a member of the Narara Eco Living Network. The one held on August 15 was a huge success: 15 people came along. This is the maximum number we allow, so everyone gets a good chance to hear and talk to the guides. Our expert guide, Alan Morris. Alan identified 52 bird species in just over 2 hours- not too bad  for a mid-winter morning!

The focus is on ENJOYING birds and the environment in which they live, not just identifying them. We usually include a guided “eco-meditation” with the walk, which allows people to sit quietly, relax and and absorb the sounds and atmosphere. We always end with a delicious morning  or afternoon tea.

Put the next walk in your diary now. It will be on the morning of Sunday November 15th. This time is chosen to be just after the Dollarbirds arrive. They are the last of the summer migrants who arrive to breed in the Narara Valley, following other species like Black faced Monarchs, Sacred Kingfishers, Koels and Channel-billed Cuckoos. So there will be a lot of bird family activity going on.  Book your place by emailing info@neln.org.au.
